Q: What are the first steps?
A: If you are interested in one of our Studios or Office Pods, contact us for a quote along with any additional queries you may have. We provide a free on-site design consultation service, allowing us to talk over your design and have a comprehensive look at your location, land and access.
Q: Do I need planning permission?
All our builds are no taller than 2.5 meters which means there is no need for planning permission and construction can start immediately.
Q: How close can I build to my boundary?
A: If your Studio is under 15 square meters, the distance between it and a boundary has to be at least 0.5 meters. If it's over 15 square meters, the distance between it and a boundary must be at least 1 meter.
Q: How long does a Studio take to build?
A: The base will take between 1-2 days to install. The building itself will usually be constructed within 2-3 weeks depending on the size. If you opt for a plastered interior, 1 week will be added onto the build time.
Q: What areas do you cover?
A: Our main focus is around Windsor, Surrey, Berkshire and London. However, we can complete projects as far as Oxford, Brighton and the New Forest.
Q: What can I use my garden Studio for?
A: Home offices, home gyms, games rooms and external relaxation spaces are just some examples. The list is endless!
Q: Do I need to pay a deposit?
A: Yes, we require a 30% deposit to secure your order. The 30% will be calculated from your total build cost quote. For example: total build cost £10,000, deposit = £3000.
Q: When do I pay for my Studio?
Once your deposit is paid, we require the next payment (40% of the total build cost) on day 1 of construction. The final payment (the remaining 30% of your total build cost) is due on completion day once you have signed off your new Studio.
Q: How long does your guarantee last for?
A: We have a 10-year guarantee on all of our projects, this covers the structure and roofing. Windows & doors will have a manufacturers warranty included.
Q: Can you create a bespoke Studio to fit my garden?
A: Absolutely! Creating bespoke garden Studios is what we are best at. We can customise any design to suit your wants and needs whether that be including angled walls, roof lights or installing garage roller shutters.
Q: How much access will you need?
A: All we require is a side gate or access path to your garden/space. If you are unsure if your property is suitable, please get in contact and we can send a member of staff to assess.
Q: Will my Studio require a concrete base?
A: Not necessarily. If you are planning on storing very heavy objects or using the Studio as a gym, we recommend a solid concrete base. Otherwise you can opt for an eco base or screw pile system (more details available on the 'What We Offer' page).
Q: Are your Studio/Office Pods warm enough to use in the winter?
A: Yes absolutely! All of our Studios will be extremely well insulated with an electric heater installed, allowing you to use your space all year round.
Q: Do you offer an electrical connection from my house to my Studio?
A: Yes, we offer a complete electrical connection from your house to the garden Studio at an additional cost which will be confirmed at your design consultation.
Q: Do you offer an ethernet connection port?
A: Yes, just like the armoured electricity cable, we can run an ethernet cable from your house into your Studio allowing seamless internet connectivity.
Q: Can my build be soundproofed?
A: Yes, we are able to add a layer of soundproofing in with the insulation on your request.
